About ella crow
When I was in the womb, my mom put headphones on her belly and played me music. That’s the story I tell people when they ask me how long I’ve been doing music.
Since birth, singing and making music have been my lifeline. I’ve always written songs to try to make sense of the chaos around me or within me. When I was young, my parents would play me Adele and Florence + The Machine, who massively influenced the powerful vocals I try to strike in my songwriting and performing. As a teenager, I dove deep into Lianne La Havas, Solange, and Alicia Keys, influencing my desire to have intimate vocal moments with lyrical bareness. Once I got to Kenyon College in Ohio, I began to embody the sounds of Folk, Country, and Americana by focusing on the journey and the storytelling… and starting the project of “Dire Coyote.”
At the age of 22, I’ve moved from New York City to London. While by day I work in Communications, my passion lies in creating music — something that I will always do. The feeling of the vibrations of my guitar on my stomach as I connect with people through my stories is unmatched, and I’m looking forward to playing in London.
